Bob Mays

1948-2019

Bob Mays enjoyed a 33-year broadcasting career that included stops at AFVN, Saigon as a radio/television sportscaster; the National Junior College basketball tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas; and for two decades doing all 15 games of the Kentucky state basketball tournaments in Lexington/Louisville.

Bob was the play-by-play man for Madisonville N Hopkins from 1974-1997. He was inducted into the Madisonville Sports Hall of Fame in 2004, and to the “Court of Honor” of the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches in 2011, as a Lifetime Media Contributor.

As Bob began putting together the history of each of the teams Madisonville played, what was once “job-helpful” became a hobby. Bob’s legacy lives on through his work, now available for you to enjoy.
